Super Mario Bros. (Paper Stop Motion)
I thought this was pretty cool for two reasons: 1. The obvious 2. The nostalgia.
I don’t know about you (fellow 30-somethings reading this) but this just brought back a LOT of fond memories for me:
- Living in the Bronx, NY (Eastchester stand up!).
- Listening to my De La Soul, Special Ed, Big Daddy Kane, The Jungle Brothers, Kool G. Rap & Polo cassettes & 12″ vinyls.
- Rockin’ Timbs w/Champion hoodies & field (Army) jackets… & gold fronts (a.k.a. grillz [this term was used by me only for explanatory purposes; I NEVER use this term myself]).
- Buying a slice & a Sunkist for a “buck-fiddy”.
- Trying (very hard) to get laid but never quite making it.
Ahhh… The good ol’ days! *sigh*

Whats up 88-keys? First off I’m a big fan of yours from way back and have been trolling on here for awhile, but first post. I wanted to give you props for always giving the people something new or worthy of our attn (e.g. iron solomon and kidd cudi eons ago) i love hearing artists i might not be up on. Secondly, since you’ve got your chicago connections just curious if you ever heard chicago producer/rapper ill legit. randomly found him on myspace and just been eating it up especially the track “pipe dreams”. look forward to hearing some new beats from you soon(chandler and ross sounds great), and definitely ready to check out another live show in the seattle area (only saw you open for asher/cudi in vegas).
